Kim: So Lilian, tell me about the news in the company (Ellen Clothing Manufacturer).
Lilian: Well, the news since the beginning of 2009 or just for this month (June 2009)?
Kim: Whichever is more important.
Lilian: This year has seen structural changes in the clients service specialized in made to order clothes. The new system separates the project building (building the deal with personalized advice from the consultants) from the technical operations. The production of made to order clothes is now completely under the control of the client. The client needs to give a couple of "Ok" to the factory for the production to move on. This means the fabric is purchased only after the client has given his green light. Same goes with the dying or other steps of the production. The cutting of the fabric in bulk for example happens only after the client has received and tried a sample of the clothes ordered.
Kim: So, the client becomes the director of his own production.
Lilian: That's right, that's exactly what we have achieved. It has taken additional bilingual (english/vietnamese) resources: Three people more who's task is to represent the client during the production process.
Kim: Ok, and what is the feedback?
Lilian: The feedback we've had from the clients who have experienced with us this new service has been excellent. Results are beyond our expectations, in fact. The additional cost of sending a few fedex packages has been reflected on our offer but our prices are still so competitive that there has been no downside in the volume of our operations.
Kim: That sounds great! What are these recent news that you seem so excited about?
