Case study: How to order a small run of t-shirts?
A small run of t-shirt starts with the minimum order of ready to dye fabric.
This minimum is about the same at all suppliers. The standard is 180kg of coton.
180 kg of fabric can be cut into 450 to 500 t-shirts depending on the size.
Therefore, when intenting to build a small fashion line of t-shirts, one should try to work with this 500 t-shirts and decide on the number of logos and number of colors.
Number of colors: A small dying bath costs usd 200, the cost is the same whether you use it for 100 t-shirts or 200 t-shirts.
A 200 usd bath accepts minimum 20 kg of cotton (around 60 t-shirts) and can be used to dye up to 220 t-shirts.
Numbers of logos: Try to use one logos on different background of t-shirts. And try to use a logo on minimum 50 t-shirts to keep the price low.
